Born in Gothenburg in 1997, Zornat has a bachelor's degree in Textile Art from HDK-Valand in 2024, before that she first studied two years of Painting at Domen Art School, and one year of Form and Design at Steneby School. Since last year, Zornat has lived and worked in Falun.

In her textile works, she investigates the course of events, time and materials, where everyday life plays a central role. She is interested in what happens in the home when the door is closed and no one sees and expresses this by building spatial installations where prints, tapestries and embroidery enter into dialogue with materials and objects from everyday life. A main character in her artistry is the bed, both in the form of motifs and materials, it is a good symbol of life in general. There is so much in life that starts from the bed.

The materials she values most are the used ones, as they bear traces of body, time and life. Sonja B Zornat will show a larger textile installation and a series of smaller works during Avesta Art.
