For many years, Zetterstrand has experimented with virtual still lifes and scenographies where he investigates how two-dimensionality, and painting, relates to a computer-generated 3D world. He is interested in the visual spaces created online, in computer games and 3D programs, and especially what happens when the illusion is broken and the construction behind it is revealed, as in the case of a bug in a computer game. Has previously made paintings based on landscapes that can only be seen as 'dead' in the online game Counter-strike, paintings with motifs created by crashed landscape generators intended for film and computer game production.
He lives and works in Stockholm, was born in the same city in 1973. Educated at, among others, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, has exhibited in Sweden and internationally, taught, and carried out public commissions. This is the second time Zetterstrand has participated in Avesta Art, now he is showing four paintings, three of which are new.
