Stepping into Verket is like walking straight into history – a powerful industrial setting from 1874 that today serves as an industrial museum featuring the contemporary art exhibition Avesta Art, which runs from mid-May to mid-September. The raw industrial walls combined with contemporary art create a unique experience that fascinates both seasoned cultural travelers and first-time visitors.
To experience everything at a relaxed pace, we recommend allowing about 1.5 hours – there is a lot of space to explore!
Guided tours
Våra guidade visningar tar vanligtvis 75-90 minuter. Max 25 personer per grupp. Vid större grupper delade i fler grupper samtidigt entrépris+ 900 kr för första guiden och 700 kr per övrig guide. Entrépriset är då 90 kr/per person i stället för 150/100 kr. Våra guider använder Strong Voice, ett trådlöst röstförstärkningssystem. Busschauffören/reseledaren får gå med kostnadsfritt och erbjuds kaffe om man vill ha.
Accessibility
Verket is a historically preserved industrial environment from its operational period. Some areas are adapted, but most remain in their original condition. This means every visitor must be careful and consider the following: * Uneven floors * Steep stairs * Dim lighting * Dusty environment * Cold, damp, and icy surfaces (autumn, winter, spring) On floor 1, there are two wheelchairs available for loan. Portable folding chairs are also available – ask at the entrance. Elevator access to all floors.
Restrooms
Seven restrooms, two of which are handicap accessible with changing tables, on floor 1 and floor 00.
Café
Our café, located directly by the entrance, offers pastries and sandwiches free from lactose, gluten, and milk.
Parking
Free bus parking directly adjacent to Verket. Passengers can disembark in front of the main entrance, and for visitors with disabilities, there is an entrance on the side of the building.
Good to know before the trip
40 lockable storage lockers. Free to use, coins can be obtained at the entrance.

Booking
Cancellation policy: Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the scheduled visit. After that, the guide fee will be charged at 100%. Payment can be made on-site or via invoice.
