Ida Persson

Ida Persson (b.1985) lives in Ystad and works in Löderup. In her paintings we see various building details, machines and surveillance cameras that represent power relations and the different sides of this power in society. These are depicted in orderly lines, made up of simple and abstract shapes. There is a duality in the relationships portrayed, like the line between safety and control when our life is captured by a surveillance camera. The paintings shown are in a large format, but created with small, thin visible brush strokes. The division of roles becomes vague. Are we observers or being observed?

Ida Persson has studied at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, where she has obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
