Part-time guides for Verket/Avesta Art are wanted
-become part of Verket's fantastic team of guides for Avesta Art and Verket's industrial history tours!
The work is a museum where you can experience both contemporary art and industrial history under the same roof. During the summer season, the Avesta Art exhibition is a must-see for thousands of national and international visitors in the magnificent old cabin environment. Avesta Art 2025 is open from May 24 to September 14.
To guide at the Work
ART GUIDE: During Avesta Art, works by contemporary Swedish and international artists are displayed amidst the heavy industrial historical environment. In your work as a guide, you will provide information about this year's exhibition and briefly talk about the industrial environment. You will guide both at public viewings and booked groups. Guides are offered a free course with a presentation of this year's exhibition and the industrial historical environment in the Verket.
The course starts March 31st
INDUSTRIAL HISTORY GUIDE: In the unique preserved cabin environment, you as a guide will tell about the work at the mill and the iron production process in Avesta. Guides are offered a free course with a presentation of the industrial historical environment, facilities and objects preserved in the Works. Industrial history tours can be booked all year round, which provides the opportunity for guide assignments beyond the summer season.
The course starts April 29th.
For guide assignments, we are looking for you who…
– wants to be part of the Agency's team of guides
– likes to speak in front of a group
– is over 18 years old
-speaks Swedish and English
We think it would be extra good if you…
– has guiding experience
– can take on guide assignments during school term time
- in addition to the mandatory languages, speaks additional languages, preferably Finnish, German, Spanish
About the mission:
Hourly employment as needed, weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Viewings of Avesta Art take place May 24 - September 14, industrial history viewings are booked year-round.
Hourly wage according to collective agreement
The work takes place in a challenging environment.
