Francesco D´Incecco

(b. 1977 Pescara) Lives in Chieti, Italy

Who are the figures lurking in the shadows of Martin Hall? What are they doing there? What do they want from us? Are we their target?

They seem to be preparing for battle… or perhaps we are already in the midst of a raging war? Are they criminals who have been placed under lock and key for security, or is this a symbol for our actions and willingness to look away, something tangible going on around us that we choose to close our eyes to? Are the cages a symbol for something unpleasant that seems to have been removed, but is actually just hidden away? Is it we or they who are protected by being locked up?

Perhaps the work could be read as a mirror for our times?
