Where the roasting kiln once stood is now an unusual and exciting exhibition hall and the blast furnaces and Martin hearts have made way for an interactive museum. New technology and artistic creations bring to life the history of Verket and the haze around the blast furnaces has dispersed to reveal an educational and exciting environment.

The work is an empathy museum and an exciting venue filled with unique experiences and impressions. Here you will meet visitors with an exciting mix of history, art, science, ICT (Information Communication Technology) and media. Board welcomes the interactive inlevelser of industrial history and various exhibits, such as Avesta Art, and activities focusing on future learning. Most are housed in the three main halls: Rostugnshall, Blast Furnace Hall and Martinugnshall. Our Total visits the environment is more than 5000 square meters, distributed on several different levels and floors, with elevator access to all. In addition, there Cornelius Hall with the center for creative learning. The work is an antiquarian preserved industrial environment from its operation time. Some parts are adapted, but most of it is in original condition.
This means that each visitor must be cautious and consider the following:
– Uneven floors
– Steep stairs
– Dim lighting
– Cold, damp and ice coatings
To avoid accidents, all must be informed before the visit of the risks that exist.

Verket is centrally located in Avesta, in the old preserved industrial area Koppardalen. To get here under their own power, is really only a few minutes from Highway 70 and 68. You will also take you easily hit with both train and bus. Walking distance from the bus station in the center of the pedestrian bridge to Koppardalen, is barely 10 minutes from the city center and train station only a few minutes.

By car, bus and other vehicles
Please follow brown tourist signs with white lettering “Verket / Avesta Art”. From highway 70 north; turn off at Dalahorse junction and keep straight on across the bridge. After the bridge, keep to Koppardalen and turn right. Turn right again onto Copper Valley region and follow the road straight ahead. After the second roundabout, turn right after about 100m towards the signposted P-spot, and the Agency. From Highway 70 south; turn right at the first exit signposted Skogsbo. Then right towards Koppardalen. Follow the road straight ahead Månsbo down the hill and across the bridge. (here you can glimpse the Administration to the right of the river and the power station). Before the railway crossing, immediately after the hump, turn left towards Koppardalen. Follow the road for about 200m, turn left into the signposted parking area and Administration. From highway 68; keep straight on for Steel roundabout towards highway 70, 100 m after the roundabout, immediately after the viaduct, turn right towards the hospital and Koppardalen. Stay straight onto Copper Valley region. After the second roundabout, about 100 meters, turn right towards the signposted parking area and Administration. By train or bus and fots.Kommer by train to Avesta / Krylbo, you take the first bus to Avesta Centre. If you come by bus, get off at Avesta center. From there, go straight towards the center. Pass the town hall and park with bison on the left side and Plus house. Go straight ahead, about 300m, towards the footbridge that takes you down to Copper Valley region. When you are on the footbridge you see Administration’s two big chimney straight. When you come down the stairs, just go straight ahead to the Agency. If you arrive by train directly to Avesta Centrum Station, jump off and go to the right towards the footbridge. Go down two flights of stairs and straight ahead towards the Agency.
